2024 Women’s Asian Champions Trophy: India Beats Japan
Reigning champions India, after sealing their place in the knockout stage of the 2024 Women’s Champions Trophy with three consecutive wins, are already set to take on second-seeded China in the Battle of Victoria in Rajgir on Saturday, November 16. Both India and China have won all three games so far in the competition and are currently the top two teams on the points table, with China holding the top spot on the basis of better goal difference. Both the teams have confirmed their place in the semi-finals.
This means that the match between the two teams on Saturday will be a battle of who will top the points table and get an easy draw against the fourth-placed team in the semi-finals. Even though India is currently behind the Chinese team in the points table and world rankings, they will be a more confident team due to their winning streak and home advantage. However, China will take the opportunity to overcome the home team in the group stage and enter the knockout stage with momentum in their team.
