Sumit Nagal Indian Tennis Player
Sumit Nagal was born on 16 August 1997 in Jhajjar, Haryana to Suresh Nagal, a school teacher, and his wife Krishna Devi, a housewife. Nagal started playing tennis at the age of eight at a local sports club. Sumit Nagal is an Indian professional tennis player. On 15 July 2024, she achieved her career-highest singles ranking of world No. 68. Nagal is currently the No. 1 ranked Indian player. Since 2018, has been a member of the India national Davis Cup team.
He won the 2015 Wimbledon boys’ doubles title with Vietnamese Le Hoang Nam, becoming the sixth Indian player to win a junior Grand Slam title. He entered the main draw of the 2024 BNP Paribas Open as a lucky loser, replacing Rafael Nadal in his Masters debut, making him the first Indian to reach a Masters 1000 event since Prajnesh Gunneswaran in Miami in 2019 .
