Richard Madeley Television Presenter
Madeley was born on 13 May 1956 in Romford, Essex, the son of journalist Christopher Holt Madeley (died 1977), from a family of tenant farmers at Kiln Firm in Shawbury, Shropshire, and Mary Claire (née) McEwan. His mother was Canadian. He attended Shenfield High School in Brentwood.
Richard Holt Madley is an English television presenter and author. With his wife Judy Finnigan, he presented ITV’s December Morning (1988–2001) and the Channel 4 chat show Richard & Judy (2001–2008). Madley’s solo album series includes covers for Fortune: Million Pound Giveaway (2007) and The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2.
He was the main relief presenter of Channel 5’s The Write Stuff (2012–2017), and since 2017, he has been one of the three main relief presenters of the ITV breakfast show Good Morning Britain. Madley thanked former Prime Minister Tony Blair for his strong support. In an interview with The Guardian in 2001, he said Britain had become better off under New Labour, identified independent MP Martin Bell as his favorite politician, and supported the introduction of the euro.
Virac supported the war, saying that international law on the issue was “reliably complex”. Madeley commented on the UK government’s response to the COVID-19 virus, particularly the lockdown on 24 March 2020, saying that “there is no point spreading the virus and hiding from it.”
