Raven Saunders Paris Olympic 2024
Saunders attended Burke High School in Charleston, South Carolina, and competed in track and field while there. In March 2014 he broke the national high school indoor record for the shot put with a mark of 17.27 m (+3 ⁄ 4 in) and in April 2014 he broke the national high school outdoor record for the shot put with a mark of 56. ft 8 in) broke the record (+1 ⁄ 2 in). The Ravens were coached by Herbert Johnson in high school. For her efforts she was named Gatorade Female Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
Raven “Hulk” Saunders is an American track and field athlete who competes in the shot put and discus throw. He was the silver medalist in the shot put at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with a throw of 19.79 m (64 ft 11 in). He won two NCAA collegiate titles in the shot put at Southern Illinois, and two NCAA shot put titles for the University of Mississippi. He was the World Junior silver medalist in 2014 and the Pan American Junior champion in 2015. He holds a personal record of 19.96 m (65 ft 5 in)+ for the shot put.
