Nitin Gadkari is an Indian politician and the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shipping, Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation in the Government of India. Earlier he was the National President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from 2010-2013.

He became the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party at the age of fifty-two and was the youngest President of this party. He was born in a Brahmin family in Nagpur district of Maharashtra. He is a postgraduate in commerce, and apart from this, he has also studied law and business management. He is an industrialist from India.

He was elected to the Legislative Council for the first time in 1989, has been a member of the Legislative Council for the last 20 years, and was last elected to the Legislative Council in 2008.
