Nancy Pelosi United States Representative
Nancy Pelosi was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to an Italian-American family. She was the only daughter and youngest of six children of Annunciata M. “Nancy” D’Alessandro (née Lombardi) and Thomas D’Alessandro Jr. Nancy Patricia Pelosi is an American politician who served as the 52nd Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2019 to 2023.
A member of the party, she became the first woman to serve as U.S. House Speaker and the first woman to lead a major political party in either house of Congress, leading the House Democrats from 2003 to 2023. Pelosi, a member of the House of Representatives since 1987, is currently the representative of California’s 11th congressional district, which includes much of San Francisco. He is a follower of the California Congress ideology.
In the 2018 midterm elections, Democrats regained majority control and Pelosi again became the star teacher, becoming the first former teacher to reclaim the gavel since Ray Samborn in 1955. During his second presidency, the House twice impeached President Donald Trump, first in December 2019 and again in January 2021; The Senate refused Trump both times.
He participated in the passage of the Biden Administration’s landmark monuments, including the American Reservation Planning Act of 2021, the Archaeological Investments and Population Act, the Chips and Science Act, the Naming Reduction Act of 2022, and the Respect for Marriage Act. On November 29, 2022, the House Democratic Caucus’s Operations and Policy Committee named Pelosi “Speaker Emerita.” He was re-elected to his 20th term by his House in 2024 at the 119th Congress, which will begin on January 3, 2025.
