Mitchell Marsh Australian Cricketer
Marsh is the second son of Geoff Marsh and the younger brother of Shaun Marsh, both of whom have played for the Australian national team. His sister, Melissa Marsh, is a former professional soccer player and he is a cousin of retired AFL player, Brad Shields. He was raised in Perth, Western Australia, where he attended Wesley College.
Apart from cricket, Marsh was also a talented Australian rules footballer in his youth and represented Western Australia at the 2008 AFL Under 18 Championships. In April 2023, he married Greta Mack.
Mitchell Ross Marsh is an Australian international player who represents Australia across formats. Marsh is the current Australian T20I captain, ODI vice-captain and also served as Test vice-captain following the 2018 Australian-tampering scandal.
Marsh is currently competing for Western Australia, Parth Scorchers, and Lucknow Super Giants. Marsh was a member of the Australian team that won the 2015 Cricket World Cup, and 2021 T20 World Cup and was the vice-captain for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Marsh has previously played for Deccan Chargers, Pune Warriors India, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi Capitals.
He returned to the ODI team as captain in the absence of Pat Cummins. Marsh scored 10, 60, 24, and 28 in the first four ODIs before being injured while bowling in the fourth ODI. Australia won the series 3–2. In November 2024, Marsh scored 6 and 47 in the first 2024–25 Border–Gavaskar Trophy Test in Perth.
