Melbourne Renegades Cricket Team

The Renegades were founded by Captain Victorian Skintel Andrew MacDonald and were coached by legendary Victorian Bushrangers one-day coach Simon Helmet. In their first season, the Renegades signed local state players such as Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, Brad Hodge, and Dirk Nannes, as well as the likes of Aamir Afridi and Abdul Razzaq. The Renegades only managed two game wins against the Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers in their first season. Aaron Finch scored 259 runs, while Shahid Afridi took 10 wickets.

The Melbourne Renegades is an Australian professional men’s Twenty20 franchise cricket club based in Melbourne, the capital of the Australian state of Victoria. They compete in the Australian Twenty20 cricket competition, the Big Bash League. As of the 2023–2024 season, the team’s coach is Cameron White and the captain is Nick Maddinson.

The team’s official mascot – ‘Sled’ – was revealed on 2 November 2011 after an online vote on the team’s official Facebook page. Shubhankar has told the future of cricket. In the year 2020, he wears another gilded shin pad and a futuristic Solidarity industrial gear that hides his true identity. A new female mascot, Willow, was added for the 2014–15 season, with the club retaining the Nesles mascot.
