Kullu Dussehra Festival 2024
The valley is also famous for its grand Dussehra festival; a Festival of victory of good over evil. Kullu Dussehra was declared an international event in 1972 and around 4-5 lakh people come from all over the world to witness it. Dussehra is celebrated on the tenth day of Navratri Vijay Dashami, which is celebrated in the month of October according to the Gregorian calendar. Kullu Dussehra is a little different as its celebrations begin when the nine-day-long festivities begin in the rest of the country.
This year the festival will start on Saturday, October 12, 2024, and will continue for seven days. Dussehra is a week-long festival celebrated with a large number of restaurants and grand celebrations.

Dussehra is a much-awaited and celebrated festival in Kullu Valley. The week-long festival begins with the procession of Lord Raghunath as well as other deities, who are taken on chariots throughout the city. Village deities and minor deities are also part of this festival. The center of the festival is Dhalpur ground. The pleasant weather enchanting beauty and festivals of the valley fill the tourists with immense happiness and satisfaction. The festival becomes even more fun with a week of dancing, drinking, and feasting. Kala Kendra Utsav is held at night where many activities and cultural programs take place.
