Boulter was born in Woodhouse Eaves, Leicestershire, the second of two children of David and Susan (née Gartshore), and had an older brother, James. Boulter’s mother Susan played tennis at the county level and represented Great Britain a few times as a junior. Boulter’s grandmother, Gill Gartshore (née Dran), was also a county champion tennis player.

Katie Charlotte Boulter is a British professional tennis player and is currently the British No. 1 in women’s singles. On 4 March 2024, she reached her best WTA singles ranking of world No. 27. On 21 October 2024, she peaked at No. 284 in the doubles rankings.

She has won three singles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as seven singles titles and four doubles titles on the ITF Women’s Circuit. In March 2014, Boulter was ranked the 10th junior tennis player in the world. He is based at the Lawn Tennis Association’s National Tennis Center in Roehampton and is coached by Jeremy Bates, Nigel Sears, and Mark Taylor.

Boulter defeated Sara Errani in the first round of the Ningbo Open and met sixth seed Beatriz Haddad Maia, to whom she lost in straight sets. At the Pan Pacific Open, ninth-seeded Boulter defeated qualifier Priscilla Hoan.

The lucky loser defeated Kyoka Okamura and Bianca Andreescu to advance to the semifinals, where she lost to wildcard Sofia Kenin. At the Hong Kong Tennis Open, where she was seeded second, she defeated Aoi Ito in the first round.
