Job Description
As a Field Auditor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of the company’s financial operations in the field.
What you will do:
- Executing on-site audits of Microfinance Institutions to assess financial records, processes, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Verifying the accuracy of loan portfolios, client information, and adherence to internal policies
- Identifying and evaluating potential risks in MFI operations, providing recommendations for risk mitigation strategies
- Assessing the effectiveness of internal controls and making suggestions for improvement
- Analyzing financial data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with accounting principles
- Preparing comprehensive reports outlining audit findings and recommendations
- Fostering strong working relationships with MFI partners to facilitate the audit process and promote a culture of transparency and accountability
- Providing guidance and support to MFI staff regarding audit-related matters
- Implementing ongoing monitoring mechanisms to track the resolution of audit findings and ensure sustained compliance
- Staying informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to microfinance
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in auditing, with a significant focus on Microfinance Institutions
- Knowledge of MFI operations, financial products, and regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify areas for improvement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey audit findings and recommendations clearly
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Professional certification in auditing (e.g., Certified Internal Auditor – CIA) is preferred
