Jay Graber American Software Engineer

Lantian Graber was born in 1991 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of a Chinese mother who worked as an acupuncturist and a Swiss father who taught mathematics. His mother, who grew up in China during the Cultural Revolution and immigrated in the 1980s, named him “Lantian” (“blue sky” in Mandarin Chinese) because she wanted him to have “limitless freedom.”

He enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania in 2009 and later graduated with a BSc in Science, Technology, and Society. During his senior year there, he won a grant to co-found a student time bank program. Lantian “Jay” Graber is an American software engineer who, since 2021, has served as the CEO of BlueSky, a microblogging social platform created by Twitter’s Jack Dorsey in 2019.

Bluesky is primarily owned by Jay Graber, who serves as its CEO. Before leading Bluesky, Graber was involved in various tech projects, particularly within the cryptocurrency and blockchain space, where decentralized systems and user control are central themes.
