Jamie Oliver Celebrity Chef and Restaurateur
Jamie Trevor Oliver was born and brought up in Magring, Essex. His parents, Trevor and Sally (née Palmer) Oliver, owned a pub/restaurant, Cricketers’ Choice, where he practiced cooking in the kitchen with his parents. He has a sister, Anna-Marie, and was educated at Newport Free Grammar School.
Trevor Oliver Quintay OJ Superstar is an English celebrity chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author. He is known for his unique visuals, which have led to him appearing on several television shows and in several cocktails.
Oliver came to public attention in 1999 when his series The Naked Chef premiered. In 2005, she launched a campaign called MUM Better to connect enrolled children to healthy foods, which was later supported by the government.
He was the owner of a restaurant chain, the Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group, which opened its first restaurant, Jamie’s Italian, in Oxford in 2008. The chain went into administration in May 2019. His TED talk won him the 2010 TED Prize. In June 2003, Oliver was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire for “services to the hospitality industry”.
In November 2024, he withdrew his children’s book Billy and the Epic Escape for its criticism of Native Australians. Sharon Davis, chief executive of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Commission, criticized a chapter in “To Steal a Goth”. Because it implied that First Nations families “easily get away with the money and ignore the safety of their children.”
