India’s Daughters Defeated China and Won The First Waldner Cup For Team Asia…….
The Waldner Cup was held in Oslo, Norway from 13–15 December 2024. India’s table tennis star Manika Batra was part of the star-studded ‘Team Asia’ that defeated ‘Team World’ in the inaugural Waldner Cup. Apart from Manika, Team Asia included table tennis legend Ma Long of China, Olympic gold medalist Chen Meng, Shin Yubin of South Korea, and Kirill Gerasimenko of Kazakhstan.
Team Asia, led by Indian table tennis star Manika Batra, performed brilliantly in the Waldner Cup 2024 and defeated Team World 14-0 to become the champion. This win is not only a great achievement for Manika and her team but also a proud moment for Asian table tennis.
Swedish great player Jan-Ove Waldner founded the tournament with the aim of making table tennis a top global sport. Considered one of the most prestigious team tournaments in world table tennis, the Waldner Cup is played annually between Asia and the world.
The tournament is named after the famous Swedish table tennis player Jan-Uwe Waldner, one of the greatest players of his time. This tournament provides a great platform for competition among shuttlers from all over the world.
After this spectacular victory, Manika Batra and her colleagues shared this success with everyone and thanked them. He said that this victory is not only the result of his hard work but also the blessings of his country and his supporters.
