Indian Cricketer KL Rahul

Rahul was born on 18 April 1992 in Bengaluru, Karnataka to KN Lokesh and Rajeshwari. His father Lokesh, who hails from Kannur, Magadi, is a professor and former director at the National Institute of Education Karnataka (ANITEK) in Mangalore. His mother Rajeshwari is a professor at Mangalore University. His father was a fan of cricketer Sunil Gavaskar and wanted to name his son after Gavaskar’s son, but he mistook Rohan Gavaskar’s name for Rahul. His mother tongue is Kannada.

Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian team in all formats. A right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman, he plays for Karnataka in domestic cricket and captains Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League.

Rahul made his international debut in 2014 against Australia in the Boxing Day Test match in Melbourne.
