Using your relationship-building skills, you provide Google-caliber client service, research, and market analysis. Working with them, you set the vision and the strategy for how their advertising can reach thousands of users.

The Performance Specialist team is the link between Product and Sales at Google. We help take product innovations and transform them into client solutions that enable our customers to get the most out of their spending with Google. Team members ensure we have the right commercial strategy for our products and bring product expertise to Sales, enabling Sales partners to promote effectively and quickly. We are passionate about all things digital and want to shape the ever-changing world of online advertising. The team focuses on direct interaction with the large customer sales pod, helping them apply the strategies developed by the team overall.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful employment of all modern search advertising sales strategies across the sector. You will also be responsible for leading the team aligned to the sector’s individual verticals.

Our Large Customer Sales teams partner closely with many of the world’s biggest advertisers and agencies to develop digital solutions that build businesses and brands. We enjoy a bird’s eye view on the massive transformation occurring as advertising shifts to mobile and online platforms. We’re uniquely situated to help shape how companies grow their businesses in the digital age. We advise clients on Google’s broad range of products across search, video, and mobile to help them connect instantly and seamlessly with their audiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$237,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in digital media, sales, marketing, or product roles.
  • Experience with people management, and leading and developing a sales team.
  • Ability to travel to meet with clients in person as required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in overseeing product area-related client projects for multiple high-impact or mission-critical customers to increase product adoption.
  • Ability to lead multiple teams and manage complex problems by evaluating internal and external risks of action plans.
  • Ability to serve as a domain expert and product thought leader for a critical industry, vertical, sales program, or business unit.
  • Ability to develop and drive business plans for pods or product areas, supporting business planning and identifying areas to support the Director’s overall strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Led team of Search Specialists across multiple verticals to grow Search business and drive adoption of Search solutions.
  • Identify business growth opportunities within the market and for customers and work with internal stakeholders to determine and drive the business growth.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders to build rapport and credibility and plan, create, deliver strategy, and provide input to help stakeholders achieve project goals.
  • Share and scale best practices, learnings, and business strategies (e.g., objection handling, pitching, business techniques, etc.) to upscale accounts, and link solutions and best practices to meet customer and Google business needs.
  • Lead a team, set and communicate team priorities that support organizational goals.
