Elena Rybakina Kazakhstani Tennis Player 

Elena Rybakina was born on 17 June 1999 in Moscow to Andrey and Ekaterina. She started playing sports at a very young age along with her older sister Anna, originally focusing on gymnastics and ice skating. When she was told that she was too tall to become a professional in these sports, her father suggested she play tennis as she was interested in the sport. Rybakina started playing tennis at the age of six.

Rybakina moved from Dynamo Sports Club to Spartak Tennis Club, where she had several skilled coaches. She trained with former top-10 player Andrey Chesnokov and former top-100 player Evgenia Kulikovskaya. One of her fitness coaches was World Championship gold medalist in modern pentathlon Irina Kiseleva. Elena Andreyevna Rybakina is a Russian-born Kazakhstani professional tennis player.

She has received a career-high singles ranking of No. 3 in the world by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), making her the first Kazakhstani player to be ranked in the world’s top 10. And is currently the number-one player in Kazakhstan. Rybakina is the first Kazakhstani player to win a title at a major tournament, having won the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. Rybakina has won eight titles on the WTA Tour, including two WTA 1000 titles at the 2023 Indian Wells Open and the 2023 Italian Open.
