Edward Christopher Sheeran was born on 17 February 1991 in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. His childhood home was on Birchcliff Road in nearby Hebden Bridge. Edward Christopher Sheeran is an English singer-songwriter.

Born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and raised in Framlingham, Suffolk, he began writing songs at the age of eleven. In early 2011, Sheeran independently released the extended play No. 5 collaboration project. They signed with Asylum Records that same year.

Sheeran’s debut album, +, was released in September 2011 and topped the UK Albums Chart. It included their first hit single “The A Team”. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Award for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act.

As of July 2024, he is the third most followed artist on Spotify. Beginning in March 2017, their ÷ Tour became the highest-grossing tour of all time in August 2019. In 2024, Ed Sheeran also confirmed that punk band The Offspring is an influence.

His aunt gave him £10 to buy a CD and the first CD he bought was Conspiracy of One and he played their song Million Miles Away in front of a mirror. Sheeran later sang with the band. In 2024 he won a Primetime Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for Ted Lasso’s “A Beautiful Game”.
