Billy Crystal American Actor and Comedian
William Edward Crystal was born at Doctors Hospital on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and grew up in the Bronx. As a child, she moved with her family to 549 East Park Avenue in Long Beach, Long Island, New York. William Edward Crystal is an American actor, comedian, and film producer. He is known as a standup comedian and for his film and stage work.
Crystal has received numerous awards, including six Primetime Emmy Awards and a Tony Award, as well as nominations for three Grammy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. He was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1991, the Mark Twain Award for American Comics in 2007, the Critics’ Choice Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022, and the Kennedy Center Honors in 2023.
Crystal made a splash on Broadway in 2004 with his one-man show 700 Sundays, for which he won a Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Show. Crystal returned to the show in 2014 to be filmed by HBO and received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Special.
