Betty White American Actress and Comedian
Betty Marion White was born on January 17, 1922, in Oak Park, Illinois. She says Batty is her legal name, not a short form of Elizabeth. Betty Marion White Ludden is an American actress and comedian who has had one of the longest television careers as an entertainer, spanning over 80 years.
In the early days of television, she was one of the first women to establish control in front of and behind the camera. She is recognized as the first woman to produce a sitcom (Life with Elizabeth). This helped him receive the honorary title of Mayor of Hollywood in 1955.
White is best known for her award-winning roles as Sue Ann Nivens on The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1973–1977) and Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls (1985–1992). The Writers Guild of America included both sitcoms on their list of the 101 best-written TV series.
White received eight Emmy Awards, three American Comedy Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and a Grammy Award in various categories. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1985 and a Disney Legend in 2009.
