Bishop was born in Louisville, Kentucky. At his birth, his godmother called him “my Beanie Baby”, and the nickname remained “Beanie”. He attended Pleasant Ridge Park High School in Louisville and was captain of the football team, playing wide receiver, defensive back, and return specialist.
