Israel Strikes Hezbollah
The Israeli military carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah-controlled areas in Beirut for the third consecutive day on Thursday. After heavy bombardment throughout the night, attacks were launched early in the morning on locations in the southern suburbs of the capital.
Smoke is rising over Beirut as attacks continue, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), while raids have also reached Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon, where buildings were damaged by airstrikes and artillery shelling overnight. Residential complexes have suffered heavy damage.
The NNA reported that five people were killed in air strikes in the towns of Bajourieh and Jumayjima.
Israel launched a major air and ground attack against the Iran-backed group Hezbollah in late September after nearly a year of cross-border conflict parallel to the Gaza war.
