International Workshop on Aquaculture Medicine and Aquatic Animal Health Management in Asia-Pacific: Status, Barriers and Way Forward (AQUAMAP25), organized by National Center for Aquatic Animal Health (NCAAH), Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi, India Went. To be held on 16-18 January 2025.
The workshop will discuss the status, challenges, and future actions of aquaculture medicine and aquatic animal health management in the Asia-Pacific region. It brings together researchers, scientists, students, technocrats industry professionals, and policymakers to take an in-depth look at the aquatic animal health management scenario in the region to develop innovative solutions to diseases, the most volatile component in fish production.
This program will serve as a platform for the exchange of knowledge, establishment of collaboration, and development of strategies for the advancement of aquaculture health management in the Asia-Pacific region.
Diseases occurring in aquatic animals:
Viral pathogens, bacterial pathogens, fungal pathogens, protozoan and metazoan parasites, and non-communicable diseases.
Policies, Regulation and Implementation:
Development of policies and regulations on quarantine and certification for transboundary movement of finfish and shellfish, development of policies and regulations for broodstock development and SPF seed production.
Aquaculture therapy in practice:
Application of chemicals in aquaculture, Vaccinology, Probiotics, Prebiotics, Quorum quenchers, Antimicrobial peptides, Environmental management through bioremediation, Phage therapy in aquaculture, Mode of administration, Aquaculture biosecurity.
