Yogesh Kathuniya Paris Paralympic 2024
At the age of 9, Yogesh was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. He studied at the Indian Army Public School, Chandigarh, where his father was serving in the Army at Chandimandir Cantonment. His mother learned physiotherapy and within 3 years, at the age of 12, he regained the muscle strength to walk again. He later attended Kirori Mal College, Delhi, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce and became involved in para-sports.
Kathuniya represented India in the men’s discus throw F56 at the 2020 Summer Paralympics and won a silver medal. In November 2021, President of India Ram Nath Kovind honored Kathuniya with the Arjuna Award for her silver medal at the 2020 Summer Paralympics.
Yogesh Kathuniya is an Indian Paralympic athlete who specializes in discus throw. He represented India at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, where he won a silver medal in the men’s discus throw F56 event. He qualified to represent India at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris.
