National Unity Day

National Unity Day is celebrated every year on 31 October in India. This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who had a major role in the political unification of India. This day was started by the Government of India in the year 2014.

The official statement for National Unity Day by the Ministry of Home Affairs of India states that the purpose of National Unity Day is to “affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation in the face of real and potential threats to unity, integrity, and security.” “Our country” “will provide an opportunity.”

31 October is also celebrated as National Resolution Day as it is the day of the assassination of Indira Gandhi. Many schools and colleges, especially in Congress-ruled states, organize meetings and programs in memory of Indira Gandhi.

On this day this oath is read in government offices:

I solemnly swear that I will dedicate myself to maintaining the unity, integrity, and security of the country and will also make unwavering efforts to spread this message among my countrymen. I take this oath in the spirit of unity of my country which has been possible due to the vision and actions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I also pledge to contribute to ensuring the internal security of our country.
