Approximately 775 million youth are affected by lack of literacy; This means that one in five youth is not yet literate and two-thirds of these are women. 67 million children do not attend school and many lack regularity or drop out.
ILD2024 will highlight issues related to literacy in multilingual contexts and explore potential solutions to enhance policies, lifelong learning systems, governance, programs, and practices to achieve sustainable peace. ILD2024 will be celebrated in person and online at the global, regional, national, and local levels.
