World Coconut Day

World Coconut Day is celebrated every year on September 2 to promote the importance of coconuts and their contributions to various aspects of life, including the economy, agriculture, and health. World Coconut Day is an international day established by the Asian and Pacific Coconut Community (APCC), an intergovernmental organization of coconut-producing countries, to recognize the importance of coconuts. World Coconut Day is celebrated every year on 2 September since 2009. It is celebrated by farmers and stakeholders of coconut growing businesses from coconut-producing countries like India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Kenya, and Vietnam.

On this day, various activities related to promoting the consumption of coconut and programs are organized to create awareness about the benefits of consuming coconut.

The coconut fruit yields nutritious coconut water, the pulp or pulp is delicious and the oil obtained from it is used in cooking, beauty products, and other items. Coconut peel, shell, and leaves are also used for various purposes.
