Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year in India on 5 September to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Dr. S. Radhakrishnan is one of the most famous writers of contemporary India. He has made significant contributions to a wide range of subjects ranging from theoretical, theological, ethical, didactic, communal, and epistemic matters. He wrote many articles in many reputed magazines which are very important. The first Teacher’s Day in India was celebrated on 5 September 1962, which was his 77th birthday.

He was a renowned scholar, Bharat Ratna awardee, first Vice President, and second President of independent India. He was born on 5 September 1888. As an educationist, he was a supporter of education and was a distinguished ambassador, educationist, and above all a great teacher.
On Teacher’s Day, students organize various activities to entertain teachers in schools and colleges. These activities include singing competitions, dance competitions, poetry recitation, imitating teachers, playing lots of games with teachers, planning picnics, giving gifts and finally thanking the teachers by expressing their gratitude to them.
